Landscaping and garden maintenance in Houston

Houston is a village with a genuinely rural setting, and the gardens reflect that. Plots are typically larger than in the surrounding towns, boundaries are often hedged rather than fenced, and many properties have gravel drives, mature trees and established structural planting. The maintenance burden is spread across more elements than a standard suburban garden: hedges, lawns, borders, drives and boundary trees all need attention on their own cycles.

Hedging is a particular feature here. Long boundary hedges give shelter and privacy but need cutting properly and at the right time to stay dense to the base. On the more rural plots towards Crosslee and Barochan, the work often shades into general grounds and outdoor maintenance: keeping ground clear, managing growth along long boundaries and dealing with leaf and storm debris seasonally.
