Landscaping and garden maintenance in Bishopton

Bishopton is unusual in the coverage area because so much of its housing is new. The Dargavel development has added a large number of gardens that are only a few years old, and new-build gardens have a very specific set of problems. Topsoil is often shallow and spread thinly over compacted subsoil, turf laid on top of that struggles to root properly, and construction debris left below the surface causes dry patches and drainage problems that no amount of feeding will fix. Old Bishopton and the streets around the original village are a different proposition entirely, with older properties, established planting and mature boundaries that need conventional seasonal maintenance rather than remedial work.

The area is also relatively exposed, sitting on rising ground with open country around it, which is worth accounting for when choosing planting on newer plots without established shelter.
